The practice’s IT environment was fragmented and insecure. Workstations operated as independent silos with no central authentication, no file server, and no standardized endpoint protection. Users had local administrator rights, and HIPAA compliance was effectively nonexistent. As the organization began planning rapid expansion, they realized their current IT vendor lacked the expertise, responsiveness, and structure needed to support multi-location growth, secure data management, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Starting from scratch was both a challenge and an opportunity to build the right foundation from the ground up.

Deployed a virtualized Windows Server environment running Active Directory, DNS, and secure file storage
Centralized authentication and data management to eliminate silos and enforce access control
Standardized and domain-joined both Windows and Mac workstations across all locations
Rolled out centralized endpoint protection, password policies, and user role segmentation to meet HIPAA security standards
Installed Cisco Meraki firewalls, access points, and managed switches to support secure, high-performance networking
Hosted all core infrastructure in a fully redundant, HIPAA-compliant data center, including secure server racks and remote management
Deployed the VASO EMR system in a RemoteApp environment for secure, efficient access across offices
Enabled secure VPN access and remote desktop connectivity for clinicians and administrative staff
Built and documented comprehensive IT policies, user onboarding workflows, and security training protocols
Provided ongoing hardware and software management, end-user support, and network monitoring as the practice scaled
As the practice grew, ingenuIT provided full infrastructure deployment and remote management for new locations in Roslyn, Coney Island, Pearl River, Caldwell (including a surgical center), Port Washington, East Hampton, West Caldwell, and multiple sites in Manhattan.
